Fortinet®, a global leader in broad, integrated, and automated cybersecurity solutions, recently announced the increased investment and expansion of Fortinet’s presence in Indonesia. The redesigned office space will help Fortinet grow its local team to further address Indonesia’s increasing demand for industry-leading cybersecurity solutions across the public sector, manufacturing, telecommunications, financial services, and enterprise markets.
The new Fortinet office in Jakarta will feature a new customer briefing centre (CBC) and executive briefing centre (EBC) that will showcase Fortinet’s cybersecurity and networking innovations, including FortiGate Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW), Secure SD-WAN, Universal ZTNA, and suite of FortiGuard AI-powered Security Services. Through the CBC and EBC, Fortinet and its partners can better demonstrate how Fortinet is a driving force in the evolution of cybersecurity as well as the convergence of networking and security.
The larger space at Jl. MH. Thamrin in Jakarta will allow Fortinet to accommodate its growing workforce. In addition, the new site will have dedicated training spaces for upskilling and training employees, partners, and potential cybersecurity professionals, helping to address the industry’s cyber skills gap. As a result, Fortinet’s partners will have increased access to hands-on training through technical workshops such as Fast Track and CyberRange. This is part of Fortinet’s ongoing commitment to bridge Indonesia’s cybersecurity skills gap in the face of an ever-evolving threat landscape.
Speaking at the new Fortinet office opening ceremony, the Country Director of Fortinet Indonesia, Edwin Lim, said, “Our investment and expansion in Indonesia reconfirms our commitment to a long-lasting partnership with our customers and the Indonesian Government. As digitization accelerates across Indonesia, cyber threats of all kinds are becoming increasingly ubiquitous. From Cybercrime-as-a-Service (CaaS) to widespread ransomware attacks targeting organizations of all kinds, the volume and variety of cyber threats will keep organizations on alert. Our expanded Indonesia presence will further enable our efforts to help customers address their current and future cybersecurity needs.”
Indonesia is one of the top markets for Fortinet in Asia. With this investment, Fortinet hopes to accelerate growth momentum in the country and help our customers align more closely with Indonesia’s national security regulations and compliance. As part of these efforts, Fortinet is already working with national agencies to help local organizations ensure a secure and regulatory-compliant IT landscape. In May this year, Fortinet worked with a regulatory body to organize the Operational Technology Symposium 2022, in which both parties discussed the need to increase information security awareness among stakeholders in the industrial sector. Fortinet has also collaborated with industry players in the beverage, consumer, and refreshments sectors in West Java and East Java to provide network and cloud security solutions as the country look to digitize its economies in line with the Indonesia 4.0 roadmap.
Peerapong Jongvibool, Vice President, Southeast Asia & Hong Kong for Fortinet said that Indonesia is one of the fastest-growing digital economies in the region.
“As the pace of digitization increases, Indonesia will face increasing cyber risks. It is important for Indonesia and its industries to protect themselves with the right security architecture, for both IT and OT infrastructure and prepare for the digital world. With this investment and expansion, Fortinet hopes to build on our growth momentum in the country and help our customers securely accelerate towards Indonesia’s digitization vision.”
