Global cybersecurity provider Fortinet recently announced the release of the FortiGuard Labs 2H 2023 Global Threat Landscape Report. The latest semi-annual report is a snapshot of the active threat landscape and highlights trends from July to December of 2023, including analysis on the speed with which cyber attackers are capitalizing on newly identified exploits from across the cybersecurity industry and the rise of targeted ransomware and wiper activity against the industrial and OT sector.
Fortinet Accelerate Indonesia 2024 kicked off with a powerful keynote speech by Vice Minister Mr. Nezar Patria, S.Fil., M.Sc., M.B.A – The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. He underscored the critical need for advancing Indonesia’s cybersecurity measures amidst the rapid adoption of digital technology. Fortinet’s latest Threat Landscape Report shows that cyber attackers are now exploiting new vulnerabilities 43% faster than the first half of 2023.
To address these growing challenges, Vice Minister Nezar Patria highlighted the innovative role of generative AI in enhancing our cybersecurity posture and operational resilience. By leveraging AI technologies, we can proactively anticipate and mitigate potential cyber threats. There is also a call for continuous efforts to elevate public awareness and foster greater individual capabilities in preventing cyber-attacks.
The collaborative spirit and shared vision reflected in the keynote set a promising tone and we are committed to these principles. Turning the tide against cybercrime requires a culture of collaboration, transparency, and accountability on a larger scale than from just individual organizations in the cybersecurity space. Every organization has a place in the chain of disruption against cyberthreats.
