International Workplace Group (IWG), the world’s largest provider of hybrid working solutions with brands including Spaces and Regus, is opening three state-of-the-art flexible workspaces in Indonesia. The new locations come as businesses based in the country strive to reduce operating expenses. Amid rising rents for commercial property, a recent study by IWG finds that up to IDR 175 million can be saved per employee through the hybrid model.
The addition of IWG’s latest locations comes on the heels of the business posting its highest-ever revenue, cash-flow and earnings growth on the back of rapid network growth, opening 465 new locations in the first half of 2024 alone.
With strong and sustained demand as companies of all sizes adopt hybrid working for the long-term, IWG projects that 30% of all commercial real estate will be flexible workspace by 2030. With IWG, partners are able to capitalise on this fast-growing sector, while being supported by IWG’s unparalleled experience.
The three co-working locations – situated in Graha Bukopin, Surabaya; Wisma Argo Manunggal, South Jakarta; and the Autograph Tower, Jakarta – will be equipped to meet the expectations of the modern hybrid worker including private offices, meeting rooms, co-working and creative spaces. By bringing high-quality office spaces to these locations, International Workplace Group is enabling local people to experience living in a ’15-minute’ city, allowing workers to work close to their homes without commuting far from where they live. Meanwhile, International Workplace Group’s Design Your Own Office service allows companies to tailor their space entirely to their requirements.
Besides helping businesses boost profitability and providing people with the tools they need to be productive, the new locations will also bring benefits to our planet. Due to their strategic locations, the new co-working spaces will allow companies to cut down carbon footprints from their employees’ daily commute. Expert research commissioned by IWG has shown that journeys made by car are equivalent to a carbon footprint of 3.2 tons of CO2 per person per year.
Mark Dixon, CEO & Founder of IWG said that the opening of these three Indonesian locations is part of the commitment to cater to the needs of businesses and the workforce in Southeast Asia, where more employers and employees operate in a hybrid model.
“This will enable companies to continue their expansion in this high-growth region while minimising rental costs and emissions. We are pleased to be able to expand our regional footprint and make high-quality flexible workspaces more accessible to meet the increasing demand.”
IWG is the world’s leading provider of flexible workspace – featuring nearly 4,000 locations in more than 120 countries with members able to access all the locations and business services via the International Workplace Group app. IWG’s multi-brand expansion strategy is designed to appeal to every type of business and entrepreneur. IWG creates personal, financial, and strategic value for businesses of every size, from some of the most exciting companies and well-known organisations on the planet, to individuals and the next generation of industry leaders. All of them harness the power of flexible working to increase their productivity, efficiency, agility, and market proximity. In 2023, International Workplace Group welcomed over 800 new partner locations and counts 83 per cent of Fortune 500 companies among its customer base.
As the ongoing shift towards hybrid working accelerates, the potential for further growth is exponential with an estimated 1.2 billion white collar workers globally and a total addressable market of more than £1.57 trillion. Conventional office occupancy will continue to fall as businesses require less traditional space and turn to flexible workspace instead.
